We started in a Paris apartment in spring 2024 because the tool we wanted did not exist. A top-1% creator paying thirty cents on every dollar to an agency that ghosted her on a Tuesday morning. A freelancer who had spent years as the top builder for AI startups, shipping the automations that quietly replaced entire teams. We argued, for forty minutes, that the same thing could run on a creator's own machine and put the margin back in her pocket. We are still arguing about it. We are also still right.

One year later there are 30,000+ creators on FanClaw, an operator led seed round, and a roadmap that is, candidly, ten years long. We don't hire employees. We hire shipped work. Two founders, a rotating bench of freelancers across nine cities, every collaborator paid per scope they ship. The best people on the bench keep choosing to come back, and a few of them are quietly becoming the core team.

The bar to work with us is not a credential. It is one blunt question we ask before every brief : is this person better than us at their craft? The 1% that companies fight over, the one people text when something is on fire. We are good. We want to work with people who make us look slow. If a scope lands and we learn something from how you shipped it, that's the yes. If we could have done it ourselves just as well, that's a soft no. We are not staffing roles. We are hiring people who are simply better than us.

Everything that follows is honest. We don't pay salaries. We pay per shipped scope, within seven days of merge. Hours are yours. Equity is real, and the cap table is open to everyone working with us.

How we work. When not to apply.

Five rules we work by, and five reasons you might want to keep looking. We'd rather you self select out now than ship a half baked scope.

Five rules. No exceptions.

We pay per shipped scope. Only.

Each scope is priced before you start. You ship, we review, you get paid within seven days. No retainer, no salary, no clock to watch.

Work when you want, as much as you want.

Four hours one week, forty the next, none on Friday, your call. We don't track time. We judge the output, not the calendar.

Pick from the backlog.

Open scopes go public on Friday. Read them, claim what fits, ship what you signed for. No bidding wars, no project managers.

Language and location are yours.

Live wherever you do your best work: Bali, Madrid, Montreal, your kitchen. Talk to us in French, English or Spanish. Every doc, review and call runs in whichever of the three you're most fluent in.

Long term, by choice.

After ten shipped scopes the offer is on the table : join the core team with a real equity grant, or keep freelancing on your own terms. Either way the rate doesn't change against you, and the cap table is public to everyone working with us.

Don't apply if…

You want a fixed salary.

There isn't one. We don't pay retainers and we don't pay for hours. Only shipped work clears the bank.

You need a manager to be productive.

There's no daily standup, no Friday review, no nudge in Slack. If you can't run your own scope, this isn't it.

You expect a company laptop.

Bring your own. We're allergic to fixed cost overhead. The stack runs on whatever modern machine you already use.

You think the creator economy is below you.

We serve subscription creators. If that's beneath your taste, you'll never write copy or design a flow they'll trust.

Title climbing is the goal.

There's no ladder. There's a scope queue and an equity vesting schedule. Both grow when you ship, neither grows otherwise.

Application to scoped intro.

We read every form. If your shape fits, you'll get a scoped brief in your inbox within five days. Written, priced, with a clear definition of done.

Step 2

First ship to first payment.

Ship to the agreed spec. We review within 48 hours of merge. Payment lands within seven days. No invoicing theatre, no Net 60.

Step 3

Keep shipping to trusted bench.

Ship a few clean scopes and you move to the trusted bench : priority on the queue, bigger briefs, and your rate goes up. No equity yet, that comes later, by choice.

Step 4

Long term, your call.

After ten ships you get the offer : join the core team with a real equity grant, or keep freelancing on your own terms. Either way the scope queue stays open to you, and the cap table is public to everyone working with us.
